My Story

Since I was quite young I have appreciated self-care and mind-body practices as an integral part of maintaining health and being a happy human.

Since 2001 I have been a yoga teacher and since 2007 a licensed massage therapist. I also have a background in teaching for massage therapy students and continuing education for massage therapy professionals. I love helping people feel their best and I love seeing students achieve their goals.

My favorite massage modalities to practice are table Thai massage, reflexology, herbal compress, hot stone, prenatal, sports, and deep tissue massage. I first became interested in becoming a licensed massage therapist after studying Thai massage which incorporates passive stretching and energy work with the effects of deep relaxation, pain management, improved energy, and overall well-being.

My education & training includes Bachelor of Fine Arts UNC-Charlotte, Yoga Alliance Teacher Training, Massage Therapy License, NCBTMB Continuing Education Provider, Advanced Thai Yoga Bodywork Certificate, Reflexology Certificate, Clinical Application of Pure Essential Oils Certificate, Prenatal Massage Certificate & several other modalities. I love learning & will continue to serve clients by being a life-long learner.

For the past few years I have been channeling my creativity into creating amazing handcrafted aromatherapy products for relaxation and self-care. I opened Essentially Wellness Boutique with the mission of creating and helping others feel their best.

In 2023, I have shifted my focus into the creation of Fernanda Wellness Services with the intention of in person on site services for individuals and groups.

I look forward to see you soon for your health and wellness needs.

Equine Massage

More information coming soon for equine massage appointments and availability.

The method I have studied focuses on finding a more natural alignment through myofascial manipulation and muscle release techniques.

Fascia is the layer of connective tissue that surrounds all the muscles, joints, and organs in your body. Healthy fascia is a crucial factor in improving the whole horse.

Equine massage has been known to:

Improve posture.

Promote more efficient movement, which lowers risk of injury.

Relieve discomfort.

Improve circulation.

Relieve stress.

Improve digestion.

Improve problem issues with saddling and tacking.
